Description: 10 week session starting October 13 + Fun Performance day Dec. 22nd

This is a fun opportunity for any homeschool/alternative education students who would love to explore dance, movement and creative expression on a Wednesday afternoon! The students will share their interests and co-create a movement and dance journey. This may take us out into the surrounding forest to explore dance in nature, and silent disco headsets may be used in this exploration! Guest facilitation will include hip hop, street jazz, contemporary, and possibly even magic lessons!

Note: This is a 75 minute class to make time for possible outdoor adventures, as well as co-creative discussion!

Amy Haysom has been teaching and facilitating movement and dance for children and youth on Saltspring Island for many years. She taught Acro Dance at Rainwood Dance, facilitated the Elysian Dance Club at GISS, and choreographed a multi-age dance piece, performed at ArtSpring 2020. She has been a coach with Saltspring gymnastics, and offers Yoga in the Classroom within the school district at most schools on the island! Amy believes movement and dance is a way for every child to meet and move with their creative spirit within.
