Ages 7-9

10 week session starting Oct. 13 + Fun Performance day Dec. 22nd

Location: Beaver Point Hall, Saltspring Island

Facilitators: Amy Haysom, Joel Eddington, Sue Newman, Naomi Jason, plus guest teachers

Description: This is a unique and VERY exciting class for all budding performers and/or magicians, or both! This class will weave dance and movement exploration, with musical theatre instruction AND magic lessons from local magician Joel Eddington! This class WILL explore dance styles of contemporary/hip hop/jazz and more, AND will work on music, theatre and some magic training too! Students will work towards a final musical theatre performance, that just may include some magic too!

Amy Haysom has been teaching and facilitating movement and dance for children and youth on Saltspring Island for many years. She taught Acro Dance at Rainwood Dance, facilitated the Elysian Dance Club at GISS, and choreographed a multi-age dance piece, performed at ArtSpring 2020. She has been a coach with Saltspring gymnastics, and offers Yoga in the Classroom within the school district at most schools on the island! Amy believes movement and dance is a way for every child to meet and move with their creative spirit within.
