10 week session starting Oct. 13 + Fun Performance day Dec. 22nd

Location: Beaver Point Hall, Saltspring Island

Facilitators: Amy Haysom, Danielle Taylor, Katie Hannah plus guest teachers

Description: Instead of watching Tik Tok videos and Instagram reels, let's MAKE them! This class will focus on developing skills and choreography in the dance style areas of street jazz, hip hop, glitch, lyrical and more! Students will have the opportunity to work on small individual and group choreographies, as well as create a fusion piece for the "Fun Performance" day Dec. 22nd. Students will experience dance expertise from a wide variety of teachers in this choreography and "style-development" class, and soon feel ready to take it to the streets!

Amy Haysom has been teaching and facilitating movement and dance for children and youth on Saltspring Island for many years. She taught Acro Dance at Rainwood Dance, facilitated the Elysian Dance Club at GISS, and choreographed a multi-age dance piece, performed at ArtSpring 2020. She has been a coach with Saltspring gymnastics, and offers Yoga in the Classroom within the school district at most schools on the island! Amy believes movement and dance is a way for every child to meet and move with their creative spirit within.
